Born in 1960 in Halong Bay Vietnam, Joan was caught in the Sino- Vietnamese War in early 1979 that forced Joan and her family in a Refugee camp in Hong Kong. Once the opportunity to the United States came upon, Joan and her family established their home in Los Angles California. In 1982, Joan’s mom opens her first restaurant, bringing authentic Vietnamese cuisine to the city of L.A. Joan was quickly inspired by her moms cooking and adapted her mom's traditional home-style cooking. Today, Joan and her son, Michael Ly brings years of culinary expertise to St. Louis, where her menu of sharable Contemporary Vietnamese cuisine compliments the restaurant’s selfless service, modern design, and exuberant Saigon spirit.
